About

All The Nutrients Editorial Team

We believe everyone deserves access to accurate, science-backed nutrition information — without paywalls, without advertising bias, and without oversimplification. Here is how we research, write, and maintain our content.

Our Mission

All The Nutrients is a global nutrient information database built to make nutritional science accessible to everyone. Our nutrient hub pages combine data from the USDA FoodData Central — the world's most comprehensive food composition database — with educational content grounded in peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, and official dietary guidelines from bodies including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the Institute of Medicine (IOM).

We cover all essential nutrients — macronutrients, vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds — with consistent depth: what each nutrient does, how much you need, what happens when you fall short, and which foods are the richest sources. All food ranking data is drawn directly from the USDA database and updated automatically.

Editorial Standards

Every enriched nutrient page goes through a structured research and review process before publication:

1

Primary Source Research

We consult the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, USDA Dietary Reference Intakes, WHO/FAO guidelines, and EFSA scientific opinions as the primary sources for all nutrient intake recommendations, deficiency symptoms, and health effects.

2

Peer-Reviewed Evidence

All health claims are supported by peer-reviewed publications indexed on PubMed or equivalent databases. We favour systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomised controlled trials over individual observational studies. Every page includes a cited sources section with direct links to source material.

3

Data Integrity

Food composition data is sourced directly from the USDA FoodData Central database and is not manually entered or estimated. Nutrient amounts are presented per 100g of food and per standard serving size to allow fair comparisons across foods.

4

Regular Review & Updates

Nutrition science evolves. We review our content whenever significant new evidence is published and update pages to reflect current guidelines. Each page displays both its original publication date and the date of its most recent revision.

Primary Data Sources

Our content is built on data and guidance from the world's most authoritative nutrition bodies:
