About

Editorial Team & Standards

All The Nutrients is a reference platform for evidence-based nutrition information. Every page we publish goes through a structured research, writing, and review process grounded in primary scientific literature and official dietary guidelines.

Who Writes Our Content

Our editorial team consists of nutrition researchers and science communicators with backgrounds in nutritional science, dietetics, and biochemistry. We follow the same research standards used in academic publishing — consulting primary sources first, favouring systematic reviews and meta-analyses over individual studies, and citing every factual claim with direct links to the underlying evidence.

Nutrition Science

Trained in nutritional biochemistry, metabolism, and dietary assessment methods

Research Methodology

Expertise in evaluating study quality, statistical methods, and evidence hierarchies

Fact Verification

Every claim checked against authoritative sources before publication

Our Editorial Process

Each enriched nutrient article follows a six-step process from initial research to publication:

  1. 1

    Primary Source Consultation

We begin with the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheets, USDA Dietary Reference Intakes, WHO/FAO reports, and EFSA scientific opinions to establish the baseline of accepted knowledge on the nutrient.

  2. 2

    Literature Review

We search PubMed and Cochrane for systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and randomised controlled trials published in the last 10 years. Where landmark older research exists, we include that too. We do not cite preprints as supporting evidence.

  3. 3

    Claim–Source Mapping

Every factual claim in the article is mapped to a specific citation. If we cannot find reliable support for a claim, we do not include it. This is how every article ends up with a cited sources section.

  4. 4

    Data Verification

Food composition data (amounts per 100g, % daily values, top food sources) is drawn directly from the USDA FoodData Central database and verified against at least one secondary database for common foods.

  5. 5

    Balanced Framing

We do not advocate for any dietary pattern. We present the evidence as it exists, noting where the science is strong, where it is mixed, and where more research is needed. Our site is nutritionally neutral — we cover all foods equally.

  6. 6

    Ongoing Review

Nutrition science evolves. We monitor for new guidelines and significant new research and update articles accordingly. Each page displays both its original publication date and date of most recent revision.

Corrections & Updates

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe any information on All The Nutrients is incorrect or out of date, please contact us at data@allthenutrients.com with the specific claim and supporting evidence. We review every correction request and update content promptly when warranted. Corrections are reflected in the page's "Last updated" date.

Editorial Independence

All The Nutrients does not accept sponsored content, advertorial placements, or payments from food companies to influence our data or analysis. Our nutrient data and editorial rankings are never for sale. Some pages include affiliate links to supplements and lab tests — these are clearly labeled, selected for quality, and never influence which nutrients we cover or how we present the science. We do not run display ads.
